SMS mailing is an effective tool for business communication with customers. Mass text messaging can be used for almost anything - from marketing notifications to emergency alerts.
SMS marketing is widely used across various industries, including retail, banking, logistics, and healthcare. With fast delivery, high conversion rates, and, most importantly, the ability to reach customers without internet access, SMS remains one of the most practical communication channels.
Another advantage of SMS campaigns is the ability to fully automate the process. With the help of our API you can integrate SMS into your system and send notifications without employee involvement. This makes the process more convenient, saves time, and ensures prompt communication with customers.
What role does SenderID play in SMS mailing?
Using SenderID in SMS marketing plays a key role in building trust in the brand. Instead of a phone number, the company name appears in the sender's line, making the messages recognizable and reducing the likelihood of them being ignored. Additionally, before activating SenderID, the company undergoes verification by the SMS regulator, which significantly reduces the chance of this technology being exploited by fraudsters.
What is the difference between SenderID and a phone number?
Mobile numbers in most countries can be connected by both individuals and companies. These numbers are designed for two-way communication, meaning recipients can receive messages from you and respond to them. No additional registration is required to send SMS - you can start sending messages right after the number is connected.
This method has its limitations: message sending is supported only for mobile numbers in certain countries and is available only within the same country. For more detailed information about the countries where SMS sending from mobile numbers is supported, you can contact our support team.
Unlike phone numbers, SenderID is only available for companies and requires mandatory prior registration. In all countries except the USA, SenderID is used for one-way communication, making it an ideal tool for mass notification campaigns.
A popular use of SenderID is sending two-factor authentication codes or OTP passwords. The sender’s name allows the recipient to immediately recognize which service the SMS is from and respond accordingly. To send verification codes, our API includes a separate method, /v1/verify/, which you can learn more about here.
Types of SenderID
Earlier, we mentioned the differences in the use of SenderID for the USA and other countries, but this topic deserves further clarification. For clarity, we provide the table below:
10DLC | SenderID | |
In which countries is it used | USA | The rest of the countries |
Who can register | Only legal entities | Only legal entities |

For certain countries, prior approval of the template by the local registrar may be required. |

Please note, SMS sending is charged separately according to our rates.
